Hi! I'm Jana I make jewelry for orca lovers
How It All Started
I fell in love with orcas when I was a kid. One movie — Free Willy — and I was gone. Completely, hopelessly obsessed.
But alongside that love came something else: a deep frustration. I couldn’t understand how these incredibly intelligent, deeply social beings could be ripped from their families and locked in concrete tanks — all for profit and entertainment.
That feeling never went away. It just grew louder.
Years later, I was working as a freelance marketer. I was doing fine, but I always knew I wanted to build something of my own — something with real meaning. I just hadn’t found the right fit yet.
Then one day, I was buying a bracelet for my sister — one of those pieces where part of the profit goes to a good cause — and it hit me:
I could actually do something.
I could take my love for art, combine it with my lifelong love for orcas, and create something that would help spread awareness, give people a way to feel more connected to these animals, and actually fund the fight to protect them.
In 2021, Orca Legacy was born.
Built From Nothing But Passion
I had no team. No investors. No budget to hire anyone.
So I learned everything myself. Building the website. Photography. Marketing. Shipping logistics. All the techy stuff that had nothing to do with making jewelry — but everything to do with making this dream real.
It was hard. Really hard sometimes. But every time I thought about why I was doing it, I kept going.
From the very first sale, part of every purchase has gone to organizations fighting to end orca captivity. That was never a nice-to-have. It was the whole point.
Today — five years later — I still design every piece, handcraft most of them myself here in Czechia, and collaborate with small local artisans for the rest. Nothing is mass-produced. No factories. No shortcuts. Every single item is handcrafted, start to finish.
And yes — I’m also the one packing your orders, writing these words, and answering your emails. It’s just me here (with occasional help from my friend). 🙂
The mission Until Every Tank is Empty
Through Orca Legacy, I connected with incredible people — activists, researchers, and fighters who shared the same fire. One of them was Markéta, a lifelong advocate who became my best friend and eventually, my co-founder.
In 2025, we launched TideBreakers — our own NGO dedicated to ending cetacean captivity. For good.
We advocate for the immediate welfare of marine mammals in captivity right now. We work to rescue and relocate animals in need. And we push for long-term solutions like ocean sanctuaries.
25% of every single Orca Legacy purchase goes directly to TideBreakers.
Not “a portion of profits.” Not “when we can.” Twenty-five percent. Every time. No exceptions.
And neither Markéta nor I take a single cent from the NGO. Every dollar goes to the animals. We do this because we believe it’s right — not because it pays.
We’re not waiting for someone else to build a better future. We’re building it — one fight, one rescue, one change at a time.
Why People Love Orca Legacy
You’re Part of the Pod Now
When you wear Orca Legacy, you’re not just wearing a necklace, a bracelet, or a t-shirt.
You’re wearing a statement. A belief. A tiny act of rebellion against a world that still thinks it’s okay to keep the ocean’s most intelligent beings in concrete pools.
You’re telling the world: I believe they should all be wild and free.
And you’re directly funding the people fighting to make that happen.
Every piece that leaves my little workshop in Czechia carries a piece of that mission with it. And now — it carries a piece of you, too.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for caring. It means more than you’ll ever know. 🖤
Wear orca. Help orca.
